Express Yourself with an Abstract Logo

CCS Keka Mortgage Life Guide

It was so exciting to develop some combination logos that when stripped back became an abstract “work of art” logo & avatar for some of our clients in the recent past.

There’s a roll-up your sleeves and play feeling that comes with these types of logos and discovering what will evoke the right emotion is an intriguing & fun process to say the least.

CCS (Canada Computer Solutions) wanted an innovation association with their technology products company so we ended up with stylized 3D box shapes (similar to a screen shape) intertwined to emphasize volume in bold colours to stand out from their competition.

Keka Abdee, a forward-thinking Realtor wanted a minimalist look; an iconic symbol that could standalone over time. We developed a stylized “K” that had movement in it’s shape that was also “star-like” to help clients feel the connection with reaching for the stars and getting their dream home when using her services.

The Mortage Life Guide, Tina Tammaro is all about sticking with her clients for the long haul and guiding them over the course of their homeowners lives. We developed an energetic infinity symbol that echoed this guiding principal and Tina’s passion and energy too!

Here’s a few facts to consider for Abstract logo marks:

  1. Non-literal Representation: They use visual elements to evoke emotions, concepts, or ideas associated with the brand

  2. Symbolic and Conceptual: Abstract logo marks often aim to convey the essence of a brand or its core values through visual abstraction

  3. Open to Interpretation: Abstract logo marks have an inherent ambiguity that allows for multiple interpretations fostering a sense of personal engagement

  4. Focus on Aesthetics: Abstract logo marks often prioritize aesthetics and visual appeal. They rely on the interplay of shapes, colors, and composition to create a visually pleasing and harmonious design

  5. Less Reliant on Text: Abstract logo marks typically do not include textual elements or rely very little on typography for their primary visual impact

  6. Unique and Distinctive: By utilizing unconventional shapes or innovative design approaches, abstract marks can stand out from competitors, making them easily recognizable and memorable

It's important to consider that abstract logo marks while quite distinct may not be suitable for all types of businesses or industries. The choice of logo design should align with the brand's personality which is typically forward-thinking and contemporary, target audience, and industry expectations to effectively communicate the desired message.
